An inspection by the Chief Labour Inspectorate. What does the Labour Inspectorate require: Who is authorised to carry out workplace environment measurements, and what documents do you need?<\/h1>\n
Every inspection carried out by the Executive Agency \u2018General Labour Inspectorate\u2019 (EA GIT) begins with a review of the mandatory health and safety at work documentation.<\/div>\n

These specific activities are carried out exclusively by specialised legal entities, officially known as \u041e\u0440\u0433\u0430\u043d \u0437\u0430 \u043a\u043e\u043d\u0442\u0440\u043e\u043b \u043e\u0442 \u0432\u0438\u0434 \u0410, \u0411 \u0438\u043b\u0438 \u0421 (\u041e\u041a\u0421)<\/strong>. In order to be authorised to operate, these bodies must hold official and valid accreditation from Bulgarian Accreditation Service (BAS)<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Important:<\/strong> Reports and certificates issued by companies without valid accreditation from the Bulgarian Standards Agency (BSA) have no legal validity and are not recognised<\/strong> by the Labour Inspectorate.<\/div>\n

On what grounds does the Labour Inspectorate require these documents?<\/h2>\n
The inspectors\u2019 requirements are not arbitrary \u2013 they are based on strict government regulations:<\/div>\n

    1. Regulation No. 7<\/strong> on the minimum requirements for healthy and safe working conditions in the workplace and when using work equipment. It requires employers to maintain optimal levels of physical factors in the workplace.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Regulation No. 16-116<\/strong> on the technical operation of electrical installations. It regulates the mandatory periodic measurements of electrical installations and equipment (such as impedance and earthing) for the safety of personnel.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      List of documents and minutes that you must submit<\/h2>\n
      During an inspection, the employer is obliged to provide valid certificates and reports<\/strong>, issued by an accredited inspection body, for the following components:<\/div>\n
        \n

          \n
        • Microclimate:<\/strong> Official measurements of temperature, humidity and air velocity in the workplace (during the summer and winter months).<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Lighting:<\/strong> Documents proving that the levels of artificial and natural lighting comply with the standards for the specific activity.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Noise:<\/strong> Measurements of noise levels in the workplace, where the nature of the work and the equipment generate such noise.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Electrical measurements (Electrical safety):<\/strong> Reports on the earthing of enclosures, the serviceability of the lightning protection system and the measurement of the impedance of the \u2018phase-protective conductor\u2019 circuit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
